THE TALKING GAME

Clues out loud. Guesses at the ready.

Two-player mode: choose 2 players, enter your name, and share the room code. The other person selects Join game → One player on their own device. Take turns describing while the other person guesses. Only the describer sees the word. Correct guesses earn the describer +1; skips are free. The guesser can tap Umm! for fillers or rule breaks. Each player describes once per round. The creator advances turns, and the highest individual score wins. Play in person or use your own voice call.

Team mode

  1. One game master hosts on a separate device and does not take a team slot. Use one device per pair. The game master creates a room and shares its six-digit code. Join with 2–4 pairs (4–8 people).
  2. The host chooses Easy, Medium, or Hard, with nouns, adjectives, or both. Both teammates describe once per round.
  3. The guesser faces away from their pair’s device. The describer, game master, and opposing pairs can see the word. Keep all screens away from the active guesser. Give clues without saying the word, part of it, or spelling it.
  4. Tap Got it! for +1 and a new word. Skip is always free. Undo corrects the last word tap.
  5. All opposing pairs can see the word. Only one designated referee pair gets the Umm! button. The next pair in turn order is the referee, rotating each turn. Use the same button for a filler word or a broken round rule. Each tap deducts 1 point. Calls have a shared 1.5-second lockout. Agree on filler words before playing.
  6. Round 1 is classic. From round 2, one random fun rule is added for everyone each round. Earlier rules remain active. Read the rule cards before starting; each card says whether it applies to the describer, guesser, or both teammates. Judges are the opposing pairs—there is no automatic voice or camera detection.
  7. The game master sees private live stats, the current word, and completed turn results. They can start, pause, end, and advance turns, and remove a mistaken penalty call. Keep the host screen away from guessers. Scores never go below 0 for a turn. Highest team total wins; ties share the win.

Play together in person or use your own voice/video call—audio is not sent by this game. A room lasts 12 hours. Words do not repeat within a room, even in rematches; skipped words also stay used. Undo deliberately restores the previous word. If your selected pack runs out, the game ends with final scores. Keep its code within your group.
